Buying a home is an exciting endeavor, but there is a fair amount of vocabulary that you may not be familiar with. How many times have you driven down a neighborhood and pointed to a house that you liked but didn’t know what the style was called? Wonder no more! Here is an overview of the most popular styles of homes, like the Greek Revival style.

Greek Revival (1825-1860)

The Greek Revival style of home started in the US and inspired by Grecian styles. The siding is most often painted white to simulate the look of marble in the temples this style emulates. Probably the most recognizable feature is the pillars that can be smooth or fluted.
