Stonebridge Mortage_Learning_The_Different_Styles_Of_Homes_Colonial_Style

Buying a home is an exciting endeavor, but there is a fair amount of vocabulary that you may not be familiar with. How many times have you driven down a neighborhood and pointed to a house that you liked but didn’t know what the style was called? Wonder no more! Here is an overview of the most popular styles of homes, like the Colonial style.

Colonial Style (1876)

This style of home is one of the more popular, possibly because of its early History in America, and because of it’s clean, symmetrical, simplistic style. The siding in these homes is most often made from wood or brick with a medium pitched roof. The most notable feature would be the window placement, with 2 on either side of the door on the first floor, and 5 on the second floor, with one window above the door.
